Burslem Artwares' superb flask takes as its inspiration traditional Chinese designs from the eighteenth century Qing period. The flat sides have been decorated with motifs of blossoming and fruiting branches in a style true to that time. Each piece is unique - featuring different intensities of colours - thanks to the chemistry of the flambe firing process. Fujian Flask was designed by Sally Mancell, and made in Stoke-on-Trent by Royal Doulton. It's available in a limited edition of 100. Height 18 cm.
Burslem Artwares offer true quality, originality, and prestige in collectable figures. They draw on a wealth of creative patterns and motifs from Royal Doulton's cosmopolitan creative past. After all, the craftsmen of ancient China turned the decoration of vases and figures into an art form. The Flambe technique of firing originates from the Sung Dynasty of 960-1279 AD and it produces one of the most distinctive glazes ever created. Since the finish on each piece can never be identically reproduced, each limited edition piece is genuinely unique.
