Thomas Morton (Senior) was born in 1848 and started work as an apprentice gilder at the age of 15. After finishing his apprenticeship he moved to Royal Worcester in January 1871 and developed a special form of raised gold decoration that was tooled and coloured.
These stunning vases are inspired by original examples gilded by Thomas Morton ( Senior) in 1899 and now on display in the Museum of Worcester Porcelain.
